ShopZend Checkout Monitor Terms
Effective September 26, 2026
About these terms
These terms apply when a merchant installs ShopZend Checkout Monitor, in addition to the ShopZend Terms of Service at shopzend.com/legal/terms. If the two conflict, these terms apply to Checkout Monitor.
The app
Checkout Monitor records checkout errors, messages shown to buyers, and related customer events from the merchant’s store and shows them in the Shopify admin. It points to likely causes of checkout problems but does not change the store, its checkout, or other apps. The merchant installs it from Shopify and can uninstall it at any time.
Plans and billing
Plans and usage charges are shown during installation or plan selection and are billed by Shopify under Shopify’s terms. Usage is counted as described on the plan. On the free plan, checkout events recorded after the allowance is used are kept but hidden until the store upgrades. Price changes are announced in advance through Shopify or the app.
Accuracy of reports
Monitoring depends on events Shopify sends to the app, which may be missing when a buyer declines tracking, blocks scripts, or a page fails to load, so reports may be incomplete. Comparisons with the store average are estimates, not proof that an issue stopped a checkout from completing.
Data processing for merchants
The merchant decides which store uses the app and is responsible for the personal data of its customers. ShopZend processes that data on the merchant’s behalf, only to provide and secure the service and as described in the ShopZend Checkout Monitor Privacy Policy. We keep it confidential, protect it with encryption in transit and access controls, use service providers only to host and deliver the service and require them to protect the data, keep it only for the retention periods in that policy, delete a store’s data when Shopify requests it after uninstall, and help the merchant answer customer data requests that Shopify forwards to us. We will tell the merchant without undue delay if we learn of a security incident affecting its customers’ data. The merchant is responsible for telling its customers about the store’s use of analytics and for collecting any consent the law requires.
Uninstalling
When the app is uninstalled, it stops receiving new events. Shopify asks us to delete the store’s data 48 hours after uninstall, and we delete it then.
